Sunset at MacRitchie Reservoir Park

Mac-Ritchie Reservoir Park

Mac-Ritchie Reservoir Park is especially for landscape photographer who likes to shoot sunset photography. It gives several perfect scenic views of man made forest and river side scene.

It is not only the beautiful spot for photographers but also for nature lovers, family and friends gathering, kayaking and picnic especially on weekends. You will find it as if you are in deep jungle and feel like you are no longer in Singapore when you further move deep into the forest. You will no longer hear and sense the busy city of Singapore. Strongly recommend to visit there at least twice a year if you are not happen to travel around the region. A good and suitable place to release all your stress. And do not forget to bring your camera.

It is located at North of Singapore and the nearest public transport is at Ang Mo Kio bus station or Marymount train station.

Sunset at Sentosa Beach of Singapore

Sunset at Siloso beach, Sentosa island, Singapore.

Blog this image, (images of images) would probably be the last until the end of the calendar 2010.

Please search for me at photovigor.blogspot.com, search with google to reach me for more images especially on landscape photography.

Here is another Singapore landscape photography taken at Sentosa island. The coastline is marked by three lovely man-made beaches – Siloso Beach, Palawan Beach and Tanjong Beach. It is relatively save to swim around or involve any of water activities such as beach volleyball, beach soccer, cycling, rollerblading and kayaking.

Sentosa island is not only the hot spot for landscape photographers in Singapore but also favorite location for wedding couples and one of the most photographed sites. Search for website, there are many beautiful pictures taken around Singapore.

How to get the Sentosa island? It's easy.. The simplest way is by taking train of North-East line and alight at Habour Front Station. From there just straight up to 3rd level of ViVo City shopping mall, transfer to mono-rail, which is S$3(may vary) for return trip.

On the way to the beach, the mono rail will carry you to the very first station, Water Front Station, where you can take beautiful photos at Universal Studio. The next is Ambiah Station where the Merlion
(Singapore logo) is there. And the last stop is Beach Station, where the beautiful Sentosa is awaiting visitors. You can alight and board the mono rail again and again from station to station without any additional fees.

The tram ride is free at the point of writing this post and it run for two directions, one is to Siloso beach and the other route is to the Tanjong beach. After alighting from mono rail, the tram at the right is to Siloso and to the left is to Tanjong beach.

Singapore Skyline

Although this is not the most photographed site in Singapore I love the color, evening sky and beautifully reflected buildings by the setting sun .If you are not residing in Singapore, probably you wouldn't know or have seen such residential sites but rather you would see those beautiful sites like Singapore river, Singapore night scene or the very famous Singapore eye.

Hope you enjoy my photos.

Sunset at Langkawi Beach Resort

Langkawi beach resort, at about 30 km off the mainland coast of northwestern Malaysia. One of the attractive sites for photographers especially who love sunset and landscape photography. It is a duty-free island (I love this).

Popular beaches are Pantai Cenang, Pantai Tengah, Burau Bay, Pantai Kok, and Datai Bay. Pantai Cenang is my favorite beach and strongly recommend for landscape photographers. It is also great for seascape and sunset photography as well. It is a beautiful beach with seemingly unending stretches of fine white sand. Along the beach with the tall coconuts and casuarinas added the fantastic landscape. Pantai Kok is a peaceful and quiet beach with the backdrop of limestone hills.

How to go to Langkawi..

Tourists can reach the island via ferry from Kuala Perlis or by flight from Kuala Lumpur or even from Singapore there is a direct flight(Malaysia Airlines). Air Asia provides budget connections to the island.

The Langkawi International Airport is one of the 7 international airports in Malaysia and connects the island to Kuala Lumpur, Singapore, Penang, Hong Kong, Guangzhou, Phuket and also Subang. On the island, there is only one main road runs through the whole island, so you won't be lost. Rental cars and taxis are available in Langkawi with a very reasonable price. Taxis do not run on meter, but instead drivers charge a flat rate which is quite "standardized" from point to point. It would be better ask the taxi fare before you board.

Australia holiday_Gold coast

The Gold Coast is a city situated in the southeast corner of Queensland, to the south of Brisbane, Australia. Only 78 km (48 mi) from Brisbane and it take nearly 2 hours train ride form Brisbane Central Train Station, to Nerang, a small township. From Nerang to Gold coast is 45 minutes bus ride and the train ticket include the bus ride. Tourism is the biggest industry in the region, directly contributing more than $4.4 billion into the city economy every year and directly accounting for one in four jobs in the city.

Waterfront canal living is a feature of the Gold Coast, and most canal frontage homes have pontoons.Residential canals were first built on the Gold Coast in 1950s and construction continues.Recently constructed canals include Harbour Quays and River-links completed in 2007. There is over 890 km of constructed residential waterfront land within the city that is home to over 80,000 residents, which is a very big number.

Gold coast town area in the afternoon. Most of the tallest residential high rises are seen only at Gold coast in the world.

Waterfront living at Gold coast.

Surfers Paradise is a suburb on the Gold Coast in Queensland, Australia and only 78 km (48 mi) from Brisbane. It has many high rises and long beach with relatively huge shore.

Australia holiday_part II

Sunset at Darwin

This sunset was captured minutes after the plane, taking off at Darwin international airport in the evening about 6. This was on the way back to Singapore from Melbourne via Darwin international airport.

Unlike the originating flight, the return trip was more comfortable as the departure from Melbourne was afternoon flight at 1:55pm local time. The airbus A320 touch down the Singapore soil at 9:55pm local time. Of course there is time lapse and nevertheless I am happily back home safely.

Here is the another sunset along the way back to Singapore, taken from the airplane.

Departure from Singapore to Brisbane, was in the late evening 10pm via Darwin also, so I manage to capture some sunrise images, which I posted in my previous post. Arrived Darwin early in the morning 4 am Darwin std time and continue to Brisbane at 6 am. Brisbane was cloudy and drizzling upon arrival at about 10am. I am very disappointed with the weather, yeah you know I am a camera man (By the way, my wife was very jealous with my buddy, the Canon 450D as I always taking care of my camera and those pictures I took). However, in the second day in Brisbane I manage to take some beautiful Brisbane photos and I will post it soon. The trip to Australia was really exciting, not only because of the backpacker's budget trip but also the delay of the departure flight. I hope you know the budget holiday trip; I get the cheapest airline, cheapest hostel (not hotel)with my huge backpack but several places with my favorite Rebel XSI.

The same sunset but it was zoomed in.

Supposedly the departure time is at 10 pm, it was delayed for one hour and took off at 11 pm. It scheduled to arrive Darwin at 4 am and the flight to Brisbane was 6am. So I suppose to have two hours transit time, it was pretty enough. But, now the arrival to Brisbane was 5 instead of 4 am. I was really worried as I only have one hour for my connecting flight to Brisbane. One of the disadvantages of the budget flight is I have to collect the luggage at Darwin international airport as I was taking two different flights.

wow, we miss Singapore airline A380. :)

It was not sunset but the evening sun was covered by the cloud and you could see the ocean below. Seem like the plane was directing toward the sun and this is the best I could take through the window.

The island was renamed “Sentosa” in 1972, which represents peace and tranquility in Malay language visited by five million visitors every year.
Sentosa offers several attractions such as museums and other facilities to provide a variety of experiences, recreation and entertainment to visitors.

Some of the attractions are listed down here;

The Tiger Sky Tower or Carlsberg Sky Tower is free-standing observation tower on Sentosa. It offers a panoramic view of Sentosa, and the Southern Islands.
Those who love panoramic photography will enjoy the ride and will get excellent panoramic view of Singapore.

It is a landscape garden with over 15,000 live butterflies, representing more than fifty species. The Insect Kingdom houses some 3,000 species of rare insects from around the world. Nature photography will take place here and especially those who love to take detail with macro lens will enjoy this garden.

Sentosa Beach of Singapore

Sentosa beach is one of the tourist attractions in Singapore. It is famous for its gentle sea breeze, which provide a pleasant environment and its sunset which attract most of the amateur photographers.
